BC Books Online was created for anyone interested in BC-published books, and with librarians especially in mind. We'd like to make it easy for library staff to learn about books from BC publishers - both new releases and backlist titles - so you can inform your patrons and keep your collections up to date.
Our site features print books and ebooks - both new releases and backlist titles - all of which are available to order through regular trade channels. Description
Jean Lafitte was a pirate and a privateer, unafraid to exploit anyone or anything. But Lafitte also defended New Orleans against the British during the War of 1812 and died a national hero, leaving behind a legendary treasure hidden somewhere in the bayou of Louisiana.Two centuries later, the Cali family arrive in New Orleans to rescue locals stranded on the bayou, misplaced from their homes recently by a hurricane. But their hard work is soon interrupted by a series of events too strange to be ignored, as a growing sense of menace descends like a new storm.Is black magic still running rampant on the bayou, reminiscent of the days of Jean Lafitte? Or is something--or someone--much more sinister haunting the Cali family?
