About the Authors

Mary Bailey publishes the Edmonton edition of the City Palate, an independent bi-monthly magazine specializing in the local food scene. Her work has also appeared in Cooking at Home and on the Telus Alberta.com website. Her Background is in hospitality and wine. She is a certified wine educator, a member of the Society for Wine Educators, the Northern Alberta chapter director for Slow Food and a past director for Cuisine Canada, the national association of food professionals.


Judy Schultz has always worn a number of literary hats: restaurant columnist, food and travel journalist, editor, author, lecturer and most recently writer and host of a 13-part Canadian literature telecourse. She is currently a full-time feature writer for the Edmonton Journal and specializes in travel and food. Her articles appear in newspapers across Canada and in such publications as Western Living and Canadian Living. She is the author of three cookbooks and two works of nonfiction.
