About the Authors

Eric Walters


John Wilson was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and is the author of numerous books for young people. He has written other Stories of Canada titles, including Righting Wrongs and Discovering the Arctic, both of which were shortlisted for the Norma Fleck Award for children's non-fiction. He lives in Lantzville, British Columbia.


Ted Staunton is the award-winning author of over forty books for young people, including What Blows Up in The Almost Epic Squad series, Bounced, the picture book Friends for Real, illustrated by Ruth Ohi, and the co-author of the non-fiction title It Seemed Like a Good Idea . . . : Canadian Feats, Facts and Flubs, with his son, Will. A busy and popular presenter at schools across Canada, Ted also teaches writing at George Brown College in Toronto, and is a roots/blues musician in whatever time is left over. Norah McClintock was a prolific and acclaimed writer of crime and mystery novels for young readers. She won an unprecedented five Arthur Ellis Awards for Excellence in Canadian Crime Writing for Mistaken Identity, The Body in the Basement, Sins of the Father, Scared to Death and Break and Enter — an accomplishment not matched by any other YA writer.
