P.J. Murphy taught for nine years in the Simon Fraser University Prison Education Programme. He is the author of two books on Samuel Beckett, Reconstructing Beckett and Critique of Beckett Criticism, and co-editor with Loyd Johnsen of Life-25: Interviews With Prisoners Serving Life Sentences.
Jennifer Murphy has done volunteer work in prisons and is completing her Bachelor of Social Work degree at the University College of the Cariboo. P.J. Murphy and Jennifer Murphy live in Kamloops, British Columbia.
