Description

From the mouth of Howe Sound to Garibaldi Park, Whistler and Blackcomb and the Pemberton Valley, twenty-seven professional photographers have photographed the very best of the Sea to Sky Region in John Bartosik's classic book, Sea to Sky Country.

Welcome to Sea to Sky Country, a spectacular 160-km corridor of land running between BC's Coast Mountains and Howe Sound, and one of Canada's most splendid natural treasures. In this big, bold, colourful book, the revised and updated edition of a bestselling classic, John Bartosik and six other professional photographers have captured the wild magnificence of this special place, from Howe Sound, Garibaldi Park, Whistler and Blackcomb to the Pemberton Valley and beyond.

Here, photographed with skill and sensitivity, are the craggy mountaintops, lush rain forests, crystalline glaciers and fertile farming valleys; the bald eagles and delicate subalpine wild-flowers; the busy trains and picturesque towns; and most of all the people - a unique breed of lumberjacks, skiers, wind-surfers, mountain climbers, rodeo stars and every other kind of adventurer.

The photographs are woven together with a zesty regional history, choice portraits of local characters and a few insider tips on getting the most out of a truly magnificent place. Sea to Sky Country is the perfect book for anyone who's meeting Sea to Sky Country for the first time, savouring some great memories, or just indulging in a special dream.
