Description

After being the victim of an armed robbery, Sean should be terrified but he isn't.

Sean finds he likes the rush that comes from danger and tries to recreate the feeling. But when his risk-taking leads him to some of the worst parts of town and he finds himself face-to-face with the original armed robbers, he finds he must do the right thing.

This short novel is a high-interest, low-reading level book for teen readers who are building reading skills, want a quick read or say they don’t like to read!

Editorial Reviews

"The plot moves quickly and the ending satisfying...The unusual plot and honest character will attract readers, especially reluctant readers."

— Southwestern Ohio Young Adult Materials Review Group

"The plot moves quickly with lots of dialogue to keep the reluctant reader interested."

— Resource Links

"The target audience will relate to Sean's challenges, choices and final decision to take action."

— Puget Sound Council for Reviewing Children's Media

"Choyce incorporates suspense, mystery and the social issue of homelessness into a fast-paced story that is sure to appeal to both male and female readers…This protagonist is both a likeable and believable character, and, in typical reluctant reader fashion, the reader will undoubtedly eagerly continue the story though to the concluding pages. Recommended."
