Containing conversations with Elders and other members of the community, this book shares their personal experiences with respect to their family stories, ancestral lines and family photographs. This unique book captures the oral tradition of the Okanagan by linking these memories through family trees.

About the Author
Shirley Louis lives at Six Mile Creek on the Okanagan Indian Reserve at Vernon, British Columbia. She is of Okanagan Indian heritage. She has written two books. We Heard It in the Bushes: The Macdougall Story was published in 1992. Q'sapi: A History of Okanagan People as Told by Okanagan Families appeared in 2002 and is her first book with Theytus. Shirley has three children and eight grandchildren and plans to try her hand at fiction in the near future.
