BC Books Online was created for anyone interested in BC-published books, and with librarians especially in mind. We'd like to make it easy for library staff to learn about books from BC publishers - both new releases and backlist titles - so you can inform your patrons and keep your collections up to date.
Our site features print books and ebooks - both new releases and backlist titles - all of which are available to order through regular trade channels. Browse our subject categories to find books of interest or create and export lists by category to cross-reference with your library's current collection.
A quick tip: When reviewing the "Browse by Category" listings, please note that these are based on standardized BISAC Subject Codes supplied by the books' publishers. You will find additional selections, grouped by theme or region, in our "BC Reading Lists."
Both the shepherd and the wolf live on the mountain.
They love their home and want to feel safe there. This book tells the same story, in identical words, from both the wolf’s perspective and that of the shepherd. Read the wolf’s story then read the shepherd’s story and see the landscape that each of them sees. A good reminder of how humans should behave in the wild and on this earth that we share.
“[A] deft, dual-perspective story...The approach and reflective prose are simple yet thought provoking, encouraging readers to be mindful of those with whom we share the world.”
“Truly a book for today and our changing future.”
“The epitome of a perfect picture book. Its simple yet powerful message provides multiple entry points for readers of all ages. It's a book that every teacher, librarian, and parent should have on the top of their 'to be read' list.”
“A worthy addition to any library or classroom exploring themes such as perspective, citizenship, cohabitation, and nature.”
“A perfect message about co-existing on this planet. This would be a great addition to any early readers library.”
