BC Books Online was created for anyone interested in BC-published books, and with librarians especially in mind. We'd like to make it easy for library staff to learn about books from BC publishers - both new releases and backlist titles - so you can inform your patrons and keep your collections up to date.
Our site features print books and ebooks - both new releases and backlist titles - all of which are available to order through regular trade channels. Browse our subject categories to find books of interest or create and export lists by category to cross-reference with your library's current collection.
A quick tip: When reviewing the "Browse by Category" listings, please note that these are based on standardized BISAC Subject Codes supplied by the books' publishers. You will find additional selections, grouped by theme or region, in our "BC Reading Lists."
A man loses his memory in a car accident. He has no recollection of the months leading up to the accident, but he has also lost the ability to form new memories. Living with his brother and his brother's girlfriend, Richard slowly regains his short-term memory, and begins to piece together his life before the accident. What Richard, and the reader, gradually come to understand is the fact that the relationship between himself and the couple is more complicated than is readily apparent. A Momento between covers, Killing Time is a literary mystery, where the reader is just a step or two ahead of the main character in unravelling the clues to his identity, past, and possible future.
Hank Schachte lives on a ridge on Saturna Island, British Columbia, in a cabin he built himself. He drives a vintage Saab and flies his own airplane. Killing Time is his first novel.
