Description

The authors describe all 39 species of amphibians and reptiles living in BC, including their biology, habits, breeding and distribution. They also cover introduced, accidental and unconfirmed species that may be recent arrivals in the province.

The introductory section contains general information on the biology of amphibians and reptiles, fossil history, snake venoms and amphibian toxins, mating and reproductive behaviour, physical development and metamorphosis, relationships with humans and much more.

This easy-to-read handbook also includes detailed illustrations of all the established species and a colour section to help in identification. It's a great reference for biology students, naturalists and other professionals, and anyone interested in BC wildlife.
