About the Author

Caroline Woodward is the author of the children’s books The Village of Many Hats (Oolichan Books, 2012) and Singing Away the Dark (Simply Read Books, 2010). She has also written books for adults, including a bestselling memoir, Light Years: Memoir of a Modern Lighthouse Keeper (Harbour Publishing, 2015). She lives and works as a lightkeeper on the Lennard Island Lightstation, near Tofino, BC, with husband Jeff George. Learn more about her at www.carolinewoodward.ca.

Caroline Woodward is the author of five books for adults and two books for children, including her first picture book, illustrated by Julie Morstad, Singing Away the Dark (Simply Read Books: 2010) which was nominated for five different awards by Canadian librarians, booksellers and storytellers. Her grandmother was a milliner's (ladies hats) apprentice in Wales when she was a young woman. Caroline lives and writes on Lennard Island, B.C. where she works as a relief lighthouse keeper for the Canadian Coast Guard.
