Picnics in Paradise

short walks and easy bike trips in North Vancouver

by Michael McCarthy

tagged: western provinces, hiking

Unlike guidebooks hard on facts and stiff on the feet, these 44 little vignettes bring alive the best of Pacific Northwest life, with an emphasis on family, the environment, wildlife and food. These picnics prove that while Vancouver’s North Shore mountains and beaches are indeed a little slice of heaven, paradise is simply a state of mind best achieved from a good walk in the woods, along with a tossed greens salad, brie and fresh garden tomatoes, of course.
