Description

"

For forty years, hockey fans in Vancouver have dreamed of a Stanley Cup. In one thrilling, record-breaking season, those dreams are now close to coming true.

This June, the Vancouver Canucks are poised to make history. Led by the team's dynamic stars -- including captain Henrik Sedin and his Art Ross trophy-winning twin brother Daniel, supermen Ryan Kesler and Alexandre Burrows, unbeatable blueliners Kevin Bieksa and Sami Salo, and the NHL's most spectacular goaltender, Roberto Luongo -- the determined Canucks made the 2010-2011 season one for the ages, capturing the imagination, passion, and excitement of a city, and an entire country.

Should the team bring home the Stanley Cup, The Province, The Vancouver Sun, and Greystone Books will invite you to relive the greatest moments in the Canucks' most celebrated season through this special offer of Believe: The Vancouver Canucks' Unforgettable Run to the Stanley Cup. Vancouver's best sports writers -- including Ed Willes and Tony Gallagher of The Province and Cam Cole and Iain MacIntyre of The Sun -- share their insights on the stellar play, the determined players, the overtime heroics, and the passionate fans, while 125 exciting full-colour photographs record the dramatic action. A heartfelt foreword by former coach Pat Quinn exposes the emotion of the long-awaited triumph.

As every member of the franchise will tell you, they wouldn't be the Vancouver Canucks without Canuck Nation -- the enthusiastic and devoted fans who have celebrated each victorious moment and suffered through each painful setback on the road toward victory. And so this book is dedicated to them -- their painted faces, twirling towels, parodied theme songs, and -- for some -- a bright green spandex suit.

Believe will also include a complete team roster, regular season and playoff statistics and records, and the Canucks' impressive list of 2011 award nominees and winners. It is a must-have keepsake for every diehard Canucks fan.
