George Bowering

GEORGE BOWERING is a poet, a writer, a biographer, and a historian. He has written over ninety works and is the first Parliamentary Poet Laureate of Canada. He won the 1980 Governor General's Literary Award for his novel Burning Water, and has also received the Governor General's Literary Award for Poetry. His more recent works include My Darling Nellie Gray, The Box, and Bowering's B.C. In 1993, he became an Officer of the Order of Can
